Cluster Activities

In January 2015 the project AMANAC (Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Cluster) started with the goal to create a long lasting collaboration and coordination platform. The project was funded by the European Commission under Coordination and Support Actions (CSA) and emerged from the Nano-E2B-Cluster. It ended by the end of 2016.

The cluster project wanted essentially to bring together European projects with similar topics in order to foster synergies and develop mutual strategies and procedures for, e.g. testing, standardization and exploitation.

More than 25 projects were within the AMANAC cluster. These were grouped into six different thematic areas consisting of (leaflets can be found by clicking on the links):

a. Nanotechnology-based high performance insulation systems
b. Materials with reduced embodied energy
c. Nanotechnologies for HVAC systems
d. Novel materials for smart windows
e. Nanotechnologies for multifunctional lightweight construction materials and components
f. Technologies and materials for a healthier indoor environment

SESBE was within the thematic area e “lightweight construction materials and components”. Further projects in this area included ELISSA, ADAPTIWALL, FOAMBUILD and MF RETROFIT. More information can be found on the AMANAC website.
