The elements are able to be applied for new constructions as well as for refurbishment of existing buildings. Material development was focused on cement based products, which were optimized towards weight, thickness, mechanical and thermal performance. Nanomaterials and nanotechnology were utilized as a tool to custom design functional and performance properties of façade elements.
